Message I am thinking of doing this mod. I have hardpipes already and was wondering how I should go about installing a SS AN braided hose from each TB pipe, connecting them, making a second balance tube.

Reason why I am doing this...

I went with a GReddy 3-row FMIC, We all know that FMIC's do not do well on our V6 motor configuration, because the passenger turbo feeds the driver bank and vise versa. We have a stock balance tube, but I do not think it will be sufficient enough, now that I installed a FMIC.

I talked to Ash about this and he said it will be more difficult/pain in the ass to tune a Z with a FMIC because of the crossflow etc. And that the more balancing of the two banks that I have... the better.

I am looking in Summit's catolog and see that there are many AN to Pipe thread fittings.
I will most likely be using a -12 A/N sized hose for the second balance tube. And some -12 to 3/4" pipe thread fittings.

My question is...
How should I install the A/N fittings to the metal aluminum hardpipe? The pipe is already polished, I would like to keep the finish good, without welding.

Should I just cut a hole and then screw the 3/4" pipe thread side of the fitting into the pipe, using some type of rubber 'O' rings to seal it? Would this be sufficient in sealing?

Or..

Should I try and find a bung to weld onto the metal hardpipe and then screw the 3/4" pipe thread into the bung? (Does anyone know where I can find a bung that will work for this?)

Some notes,
I have water injection, but the jets will be placed AFTER the balance tube, before the TB's.

PLEASE do not reply to this message lecturing me about FMIC's, overheating, etc etc. I know them all. I chose to go this route because its my car and I want it that way.

If anyone has some helpful tips or ideas for this project, please let me know. Some close up pictures of the AB-flug balance tube hardpipes would be great.

Thanks alot! Shawn300zTT
